NAN BERNSTEIN RATNER CCC, ASHA-H, ASHA-F is Professor of Hearing and Speech Sciences, University of Maryland, College Park, USA. A Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, she has published extensively in fluency and language development/disorder. With Brian MacWhinney, she co-directs the new NIH/NSF FluencyBank initiative to data-share and archive stuttering research data. With Jean Berko Gleason, she is co-author of the widely-used text Language Development,8th edition. With the late Oliver Bloodstein, she co-authored A Handbook on Stuttering. She received the Distinguished Researcher Award of the International Fluency Association and current serves as its President-Elect.
