She is a certified specialist in stuttering, cluttering and other fluency disorders with experience in stuttering support, anti-bullying programs and summer camps. Hedinger is vice president and director of continuing education for the World Stuttering Network. She has published books, chapters, peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles related to stuttering and speech language development.
